At our headquarters in Hengelo the Naval System Engineering department is responsible for the entire development cycle of our radar products, services and solutions, consisting of concept definition, system design, system integration and validation.
Within the Naval System Engineering department, the Solution Engineering Group performs all system engineering activities for the realization of a mission system on board of naval ships. This includes all integration activities with various subsystems, such as sensors, effectors, communication and navigation systems. The Solution Engineering Group has two teams: a main team in Hengelo and an affiliate team in Delft. To strengthen our team in Delft, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated:

About the job
In your job as System Engineer you will have two main roles:
- You will be the product expert in your particular field of expertise
- You will use that product expertise to bring projects to a success
In your role as product expert you will be the focal point for questions related to your area of expertise, for example supporting bid activities to obtain the most fitting solution. You will set the roadmap for your products and - together with other product experts - you will contribute to mission system concept definitions. In this role you will work with various suppliers, inviting them for portfolio and roadmap discussions, and will work within a team of product experts.
In your role as project engineer you will work as an integral part of a project team which is responsible for the design, development and validation of a mission system for a specific customer. You will bring your particular expertise into the project and manage one or multiple subsystem suppliers; starting from the subcontracting phase up to the acceptance phase. You will need to interface with the lead engineer of the project, representatives of the customer, suppliers of subsystems and other parties involved.
Your main tasks are:
- Building up and maintaining the knowledge base of your products
- Providing solutions to technical questions from internal/external stakeholders
- Pro-actively maintaining contact with suppliers of your products
- Contributing to mission system concept definitions
- Managing project-related subsystem suppliers
